more tips and stuff. . . . . .
Christmas is over, and as is usual at this time of year, we are left with extended waistline and reduce your bank balance. (Would not it be great if, just once, the situation was reversed and we could welcome the new year with a reduced waist and expand bank balance ?).
However, before we get down to juggling the figures in an attempt to improve the financial situation, why not try the following simple math test? IMPORTANT: this must be done in the head ONLY. Do not use paper and pencil or a calculator.
READY? Try it ........
Take 1000 and add 40 to it. Now add another 1000 Now add 30 Add another 1000 Now add 20 Now add another 1000 Now add 10 What is the total? Simple, right?
Did you get 5000? Sorry, wrong. Quickly try again. There are still 5000? Oh dear! You do need financial help. (Use a calculator for the correct answer - and for those without a calculator, the answer is at the end of this article)
do not worry, it's just fun! Nothing to do with age - most adults get it wrong - especially the "Smart-Alecs'. It was sent me a clever friend. I need not mention names, and she knows who she is. I'll pass on a few of her" Dementia Tests' (as described) in future articles. (Needless to say, I got 5000, and ).

Now to get back to serious business save money, here are a few ideas.
1.Do you think you deserve a reward after all the hard work during the festive season? Why not take advantage of National Express current offer. OVER 60-can go anywhere for £ 4.50 or £ 9 percent if you travel before 31 March Only books in 3 days in advance. Last year, when I took advantage of a similar offer, I met a lady who made the most, and it has traveled from South England to Scotland to visit a friend and was in the process also works in the West Country. So why not choose a place or person you fancy visiting, and then sit back and enjoy the scenery? Visit for routes and times.
2.If you think you deserve your hair-do, massage, manicure, foot massage, etc., have you thought trying your local college? student may take a little longer to complete the process, but it will cost you part of 'high street' charge. Also, it is worth bearing in mind that in a few months time to the same student will join the professional market and filling the 'high street' prices.
3.When you feel the need for a new suit, before visiting the usual fashion chain store, why not peruse the charity shops on the way? You will probably pick something that is unique to you for a price equal to that of coffee and a sandwich. Also, many Charity Shops now have a 'designer rail', where well-made outfits can be purchased at a fraction of original cost. This time of year is especially good time to visit the Charity Shops, which is often unwanted gifts to make the appearance.
4.Have you visit your local library lately? If not, you'll be surprised how much they have changed. Libraries are not just about books. They offer DVDs, videos, CDs, language tapes, etc. So, instead of buying DVD's and CD's why not borrow from the library? Also, why not borrow audio books or foreign language course to enjoy and learn while performing daily chores. Incidentally, the internet service is free of charge to libraries.
5.I just taken out of the RAC membership for a year and it did not cost me a penny, and last year I bought the item of furniture from MFI, which also did not cost me penny. How, You May Ask? .... Easy, just exchange money coupons issued by Tesco in relation to their Club Card points. As mentioned in previous article - use their Visa cards instead of checks or cash (for any purchases anywhere, not just in Tesco) and it's amazing how quickly the points collected. However, I aloud, once again, it is important to complete VISA balance is cleared each month, and for this purpose it is desirable to set up Direct Debit method with your bank you will not save money if you pay just the minimum requested BALANCE in your monthly statement. That's the way that young people get into debt, and we know better right? When you use a Visa card must remember to use them for things you would normally buy and treated as if we were using cash. And talking about Tesco's or any other supermarket for that matter. . .
6.Have you thought about ordering your groceries online and enjoy the luxury of having them delivered to your door at a time convenient for you? If there is a charge for delivery, it will probably be reduced by the amount of money that we saved by not 'impulse buying'. Is not it amazing how we go to the supermarket to get some fundamentals and the lurch carts overflowing with bargains? It is worth remembering when we were walking around the supermarket aisle that each and every item is strategically placed to increase sales.
7.Do you enjoy reading monthly magazines, but think of them as an expensive indulgence? (Or maybe only chance to get an insight on 'glossies' was at the doctor's waiting room, where you constantly zoom around on an ad appealing only to discover that the offer was closed several years earlier). Well, one of the most unusual and welcome gift I got was a subscription to your favorite magazine - so much better than a box of chocolates to say that in this household disappears in a flash - and where I have to admit that I am the main culprit. Each month throughout the year, it was a good feeling is regenerated as your favorite magazine Plops through the letterbox. You feel like a kid with a favorite box of candy as you feverishly rip into the package and consume content. I go to my journal for a friend, and she and her friends do the same. In this way we will all get to enjoy about six magazines. So why not do the same? In fact, why not take time to enjoy the monthly newsletter just click to join the mailing list.
8.Are still waiting for the lottery to come your way? Well, thinking 'viĊĦak'i not want to be too pessimistic, you'll probably have to wait a long time! (However, someone, somewhere, is going to be hit by lightening and someone will hit the jackpot - that's life, or in any other way - fortunately or unfortunately) I recently had the pleasure of sitting next multi-millionaire. (pleasure was hoping that some of wealth will rub off on me). During the conversation, someone mentioned the lottery. My acquaintance is also rich in thought that the chance of victory was so remote that he chose instead to invest in premium bonds. Not only is there a better chance of winning, but because he invested the maximum amount possible, its annual interest worked out to between 4% -5% TAX FREE, and, of course, his original investment intact. Now, not many of us can afford to invest the maximum amount allowed, but many of us, like me, they have premium bonds since they were introduced in l950-and has not won a thing.
In other words, along with many others, my interest was nil. In fact, taking into account the original investment plus inflation, the result was NIL, NIL. However, to someone's suggestion that the computer seemed to favor recent numbers (which can not be logically explained as a random selection), I pulled all the bonds and are re-invested, and hey, presto! I won £ 50! Unfortunately, I did not win because the big day, so I think that the interest earned is still NIL, NIL, however, if you have premium bonds might be worth considering the withdrawal and re-investment, bearing in mind that you will miss out on a draw until the reinvestment process is completed. If you have never subscribed to Premium Bonds, why not give it a go? I think that for every pound you contribute to the lottery, and contribute a similar amount of premium bonds. If you now buy lottery tickets twice a week, at the end of the year you will have £ 100 for the premium bonds. You will not only have 100 chances to win, but still retained the £ 100 - -! GOOD LUCK
By the way, the answer is a test of mathematics 4100th If you got this answer and the head well done!
